| English is a hybrid type defensive end who more than likely projects out to an outside linebacker at the next level. With a quick first step and a bit of an attitude on the field, English is a skillful pass rusher who also flashes the tools consistent with elite coverage DE/OLB types. He has an excellent motor and rarely quits on the play, while his awareness and reliability in the tackling department have shown consistent improvement throughout his college career. English was met with injuries of varying degrees during parts of the '04, '06, and '08 seasons, so durability is a concern. As a defensive end, he could stand to build strength and bulk on his lower half, and if he lines up as an outside linebacker at the next level, his speed will be less than elite. While most of his collegiate production came against second-tier talent, English is a relentless, versatile player with a myriad of plus tools, and he should be an impact contributor at the next level. |
